FULL FIBRE

Virgin Media is to invest €200m in upgrading its broadband network to full fibre, which will enable speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second for the company’s customers. The project is expected to take three years to complete and will commence in Q1 2022.

Broadband partnership SIRO has secured a further €620m in funding for its fibre network, including a €170m loan from the European Investment Bank. The ESB-Vodafone joint venture plans to expand population coverage to 2.1 million people.
