Prepared to make the difference every day

At RSA Insurance Ireland and 123.ie our purpose is to help people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times. This drives how we operate as a business as we strive to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace; deliver our climate and sustainability ambitions; and help the communities in which we operate to overcome adversity. DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE

We have partnered with TCPID — Trinity College’s Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities. The centre provides people who have intellectual disabilities with the opportunity to participate in a higher education programme designed to enhance their capacity to fully participate in society as independent adults. We provided work placement and internship experience, as well as delivering several workshops to students on interview skills, CV writing, and LinkedIn profile development. We are a participant in Business in the Community Ireland’s (BITCI) EPIC programme. This programme aims to provide training and employment for people from immigrant communities. We have already interviewed and hired participants of the programme and commit to hire more. We were also delighted to host a workshop for participants in June, which included a job-seeker workshop, office tour and opportunity for networking. As one of 52 companies to sign BITCI’s Elevate Pledge, we show a further commitment to building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. Our participation in the pledge also supports the creation of a baseline that will help our business further enhance our own practices and directly reflect the customers we serve. We were delighted to be able to co-sponsor this year’s Dublin Front-Runner’s annual Pride run in the Phoenix Park. We had a brilliant team of people from our office run, jog and walk the five-kilometre track in support of brilliant charities — ARC cancer support charity, Gay Health Network and LINC (advocating for lesbian and bisexual women). We proudly marched in Dublin Pride, in sustainable and organic T-shirts from Human Collective, with donations from each purchase going to Sport Against Racism in Ireland, LGBT Ireland, and the Irish Youth Foundation.

WORKING IN OUR COMMUNITIES

We are proud to be a charity partner of Barnardo’s Ireland and Barnardo’s Northern Ireland. How we help the communities in which we operate is central to achieving our purpose. In April, our people walked over 10,000 miles to raise funds to mark the 60th anniversary of the charity, and we matched our people’s contributions. We have signed up to volunteer in BITCI’s Time to Read and Time to Count programmes from September. Volunteers from our business will spend time helping children in schools in our Dundrum and Galway communities with maths and numeracy, and with their reading skills. At the end of the cycle, we’ll invite the children to our offices for a look around, a bit of a party, and to ask questions to people around our business. We are a signatory to BITCI’s Low Carbon Pledge. As a signatory, and as Ireland’s leading wind energy insurer, we are publicly committing to setting science-based carbon emissions reduction targets by 2024. We developed a Vulnerable Customer Framework to support vulnerable customers throughout their lifecycle with us, from the products we design and market, to how we interact with customers, train our people and better understand customer needs.
