Perfect Pats win again to consolidate lead at top

-

ST PATS maintained their 100% record in Division 1 with a fourpoint victory over Kilkerley on Saturday evening.

The Lordship side started brightly and were soon in front thanks to points from Paddy Keenan and Aidan McCann. A Sean McElroy point got the home side on the scoreboard after five minutes and they took the lead three minutes later as Daniel McKeown hit a bullet of a shot which flew past Pats goalkeeper Sean Connor for the game's only goal.

But that was as good as it got for Kilkerley in the opening half as Pats reeled off five scores on the trot to put them 0-7 to 1-1 in front. A late Cathal Bellew point made it 0-7 to 1-2 at the break.

The second half was a pretty even affair with Kilkerley unable to make any real inroads into their opponents lead. Substitute Tadhg McEneaney scored two points in quick succession to reduce the Pats lead to just two points.

However, that was as close as it got with Pats easing home late on extending their lead thanks Eoin O'Connor's third point of the evening and a last minute score from Eoghan Lafferty.
