Referees seek fee hike

LOUTH referees are seeking an increase in match fees from €35 to €40 and from €10 to €20 for linesmen.

The request was made in a letter received by the referee’s administration committee. County Chairman Des Halpenny asked clubs to discuss it at committee level and return with a mandate to vote on the proposal in March.

He said clubs would have to foot the bill if an increase is ratified, and urged them to discuss it prior to any vote.
