Commins earns silver

-

JONATHAN Commins produced the star performance from an Ardee & District AC point of view when earning a silver medal on the second weekend of the Leinster Indoor Championships in Athlone.

Commins, competing in Sunday’s events, got his indoor season off to a flying start when easing his way over the barriers in the Boys U-17 60m hurdles to secure second place in a sprint finish.

However, there was no luck for clubmate Conor McMahon who landed badly after the fourth flight in the Boys U-18 60m hurdles final and did well to compose himself and finish the race.

The day before Niamh Tenanty took to the track for the Girls U-18 60m final, and having recently been out through injury injury she acquitted herself well in her comeback race to finish fifth in 8.62sec.
