THE ‘everday lifesaving work’ of the staff in the neonatal unit of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital has been acknowledged by a grateful local family.

When Shaun Reynolds was born at 27 weeks last October, the ‘amazing people’ in the unit made sure he survived.

‘He was very sick when he was born and the hospital were wonderful with him,’ his dad Karl, stated this week.

Shaun spent eight weeks in the care of the team at the hospital.

Relieved mum and dad, Karl and Pamela, and Shaun’s siblings, Amy and Aaron, really wanted to do something to say thanks.

Karl and Amy were part of the Drogheda Pantomime this year and when the committee heard about Shaun’s story they decided to make a donation to the neonatal unit.

‘Hopefully Shaun will be another one for the panto in the years ahead,’ Karl remarked.
