DUNDALK GAELS 0-12 NAOMH FIONNBARRA 1-4

DUNDALK Gaels made it two wins from two in the Sheelan Cup when they turned in a strong second half display to record a five-point victory over Naomh Fionnbarra on Sunday morning.

The Gaels made the brighter start and got the first score but the half was nip and tuck as both teams traded points. The pick of the Finbarrs scores came from a well taken point by Conor Osborne while Pádraic Murphy was steady on the frees half as the half finished even 0-4 apiece.

The Gaels upped it a gear in the second half and tacked on a number of points with the help of Eanna McArdle, Chris Sweeney and Jason Clarke, as the Barrs were stuck in third gear. Paddy McGrane made two superb saves to keep the Togher men’s chances alive.

At the other end Jack Butterly goaled to reduce the deficit to three but the Dundalk men grabbed the last two points to run out convincing winners.
