Moore makes a point for Blues

-

men to take all the points, but a Blues free from Moore saw the game end level.

Geeney got another excellent long range effort for his side and just before the break McGeown got his second point of the game to leave the score at half time 1-7 to 0-3 in favour of the home team.

Coleman got the first point of the second half his fifth from play and McGeown put the home team nine in front two minutes later. The Bellingham team battled hard and were guilty of some wayward shooting especially from frees that could have added to their tally on the scoreboard. Paul Martin got on the scoresheet with a point and two minutes later the Clans got their second goal with a great move up the field and McGeown’s final crossfield pass found John Byrne who shot to the net passed the advancing keeper.

Mark Newell made it 2-11 to 0-3 with just about eight minutes to go. Jackie Agnew got the O’Connell’s first point of the second half and three further points all from James Clerkin made the final score look decent but it’s the Dundalk team that made it two wins from two played in group D of the Sheelan Cup.
