BINGO continues every Monday night in the community centre at 8.30.

We would like to send the warmest birthday wishes to one of our most cherished club men Padraig Rath who celebrated his 60th during the week, many happy returns Pop!

The club in associatio­n with Kingbet is holding a Cheltenham preview night on the 7th of March in McHughs, the panel of experts include Donn McClean, Tony Keenan, David Casey and Jack Kennedy, the night will begin at 8pm sharp (you don’t want to miss a winner!). Tickets are available from Kingbet, McHughs or committee members and cost €15. Everyone attending will receive a free €5 KingBet along with hot food from Mary’s Market Cafe.

Also in March, we are holding a dinner dance in the Westcourt Hotel on the 11th. Ticket details soon.

Membership is now due for 2017, contact any committee member for player, non player and juvenile rates. GLEN Emmets take on St Patrick’s this Friday at 8pm in a reschedule­d game in Pairc Dreadnots, Clogherhea­d. All support is welcome!

The Emmets took on Dreadnots under floodlight­s in Clogherhea­d last Saturday evening and the result was Glen Emmets 1-6 Dreadnots 0-7.

Thanks to all who registered last Friday. Those who still have to register can do so on Sunday March 5th from 10am to noon. The club shop will be open and refreshmen­ts will be served.

The Glen Emmets Dixon Cup Winners Presentati­on Dinner Dance is on this Saturday at 8pm in the Glenside Hotel. All club members, supporters and the wider community are more than welcome to attend. Tickets are €30 and are available from Robert Murray on 087-1706447. Come along and enjoy the celebratio­ns!

Astrotots: The 2017 Glen Emmets Nursery/U-7/U-8/U-9 practice for girls and boys will have its last session next Sunday in Drogheda Leisure Park at 11am. All are welcome, including any newcomers at any age. Please spread the word to classmates etc. Bring your water and mouthguard. We hope to see you all then!

The Glen Emmets 5k Fun Runwalk is on Sunday April 2nd at 2pm. It is an AAI-permitted course and all entrants will be chip-timed. The cost of doing the run is as follows: Adults €15, Under-18s €10, Under-12s (not chipped, need accompanie­d by an adult) €5. There will be a family rate (2 adults/2 under 18s) for €25. Registrati­on details will be published on our facebook page, twitter and here in the club notes.

Come out and support a great family day and bring the buggy or the dog!

Numbers drawn in last Tuesday’s lotto for a jackpot of €10,000 were 4, 9, 15, 29, and in the draw for the €2,100 jackpot the numbers were 2, 4, 16, 19.

The lucky dip winners of €25 were Emma Hughes, Juliet Reynolds, Colm Hoey/Jenny O’Brien and Yvonne Carr. The draws take place every Tuesday night in the Morning Star.

Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciate­d. With this in mind we are asking people if they can sell tickets to family, friends and work colleagues. If you think you could sell tickets, please contact Jack Carolan on 087-2316722. HARD luck to our senior men’s team who lost against Naomh Mairtin on Friday evening.
