Blistering start paves way for Curraha

3-10 3-7

-

THIS was the proverbial game of two halves, with the elements having a major say in proceedings.

The game was played in Grangegodden, Kells, after both clubs’ pitches were deemed unplayable. Curraha had the strong breeze at their back in the opening half and by the break had built up a 2-9 to 0-0 lead.

James McEntee and Conor Moriarty were on target with the goals, while Curraha keeper Luke McCarthy didn’t have a single kickout.

Curraha added a third goal early in the second half and that seemed to be an end to the contest.

However, Ballinabrackey fought back and had closed the deficit significantly after scoring 2-4 in the third quarter.

It took some solid defending from the Curraha backs to keep their opponents out, and while only three points separated the sides at the finish Curraha held on for their first victory of the year.
