Heavy loss for Vincent’s in Ardcath

LAST year’s Junior A champions proved far too strong for the Junior B winners in Division 3 of the league at Ardcath on Sunday.

St Vincent’s started in promising fashion with points from Richie O’Sullivan, Robbie Lynch and Thomas Field, but Bective opened their account with a goal in the eighth minute and they added a second one at the end of the opening quarter.

Lynch had a second point for St Vincent’s, but at half-time the visitors led 2-5 to 0-4.

Any hopes of a St Vincent’s revival were dashed by six third-quarter points from the rampant Bective men. Bob Tallon added to the St Vincent’s tally, but that was their only score of the second half and the winners added another 1-4 before the final whistle.
