League goes down to wire

IT’S all to play for going into Friday’s final round of games in the Fosters Duleek & District League Premier Division after last week’s matches went to form.
Coincidentally, the top two teams - Carranstown and Lantern - meet in Duleek in a game that will decide who proceeds straight to the Premier decider and who will have to negotiate a semi-final.
Three other teams are battling for the remaining two qualifying spots, with Dalys likely to advance to the quarter-final along with the winners of the Morning Star v Mariner tie.
In Divisions 1 and 3 the four teams through to the knockout phase are already known, while in Division 2 Grennans will need to beat Hill Bar to stand a chance of snatching a quarter-final place, with Valley Inn, Fair Green Bar and Carranstown B all battling it out for a top-three finish along with Hill Bar. Sunday’s competition starts at 2pm and registration is at 1.30.
The Charity Doubles is on the following Sunday, together with the Division 2 and Division 3 Singles, and entries for those competition must be in by Thursday March 9th.
Board sponsors are still welcome at €50 per advertising sign for both days of competition.
