Hurlers still searching for first

It was the visitors who opened the scoring when Liam Dwan struck over an early free. Tyrone replied with five unanswered points from Dermot Begley (2), Casey, Tiarnan Morgan and Ryan McKernan.

Liam Dwan with another pointed free brought a halt to that run of scores, quickly followed by a Matthew Mulgrew point for the home side who then struck for their only goal of the game when Damien Casey fired an unstoppable shot to the net.

Tyrone continued to have the better of the first half exchanges and with Casey adding five further points to his personal tally his side led by 1-16 to 0-7 at the break.

The home side extended their lead on the resumption with three more Casey points before Louth struck with a goal from full forward Seaghan Conneely.

The visitors upped their performance throughout the second half and were rewarded with a second goal from Liam Dwan but it was not enough to deny the Ulster men a second victory of this National League campaign.
