Blue lanterns released
SUNDAY 2nd April marks the start of Autism Awareness month, which organisations use as an opportunity to highlight the lives of people living around the world with autism that affects their communication and socials skills and abilities. TO celebrate the start of this world wide event, the staff and clients at Meadowview, Redwood, Stamullen, which is a service for adults with Autism at the Talbot Group, gathered together at Redwood on Monday evening to release Blue Chinese Lanterns. THE evening marked the start of a week of events within Meadowview which have been organised by the clients and staff. THESE include social, education, training and information events to name but a few of the activities which will be happening at Meadowview throughout the week. EACH year autism organisations all over the world celebrate Autism Day to help build awareness, educate and engage and raise funds and the charity Irish Autism Action (IAA) hope this year to turn Leinster House Blue as part of their activities and celebrations! ADDITIONALLY, Blue Nose Day, which takes place on 27th April is IAA’s largest fund raiser throughout the year. This April, they hope to make it their biggest year by encouraging schools, communities and local businesses to wear blue for the day, walking a mile for Autism, having a blueberry muffin morning and using #BlueNoseDay with any selfies they post to social media on the day.
