Kelly shows his great strength
THERE have been a few outstanding sporting achievements this year already, in a few different disciplines.
But this week, it’s time to talk GAA and the wonderful efforts of both Meath and Louth in this year’s NFL campaign.
Meath had a great run in Division 2 and it suggests that they’ll have something to offer come the championship.
Over the border, in the Wee County, they have plenty to shout about too, not least the manner in which they have attained Division 2 football for next year.
The players have bought into the Colin Kelly frame of mind and the results show what hard work and commitment can bring to any county set up.
The entire crew, from management to players, have delivered a memorable NFL campaign and it shows the level of fitness that the side has achieved in delivering great consistency since the O’Byrne Cup, all with the aim of rising up the grades.
Colin Kelly deserves immense praise for what he has done and at times it has been a hard journey, but the team stood with him, shoulder to shoulder, when it mattered and together they kept the path straight and true.
The championship is around the corner now and we wonder what it will bring.
But for the moment, it’s all roads to Croker on Saturday at 5pm for a play-off final with Tipperary.
And not a grass bank in sight!
