RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIO­N

The April Monthly Meeting of Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n takes place this Thursday night 6th April at 8.30 pm. All Committee Members are requested to attend.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The Tir na n-Og Active Retirement Group resume its activities this Friday evening 7th April at 6 pm in Teach Raithneach. This Social Evening includes; activities and games, refreshmen­ts, and a chat with neighbours and friends. Everyone welcome especially New Members. IRISH DANCING

The Farrelly School of Irish Dancing Class Feis takes place in Rathkenny Hall on Sunday next, 9th April. The Schools Classes form Gibbstown, Rathkenny, Castletown, Navan, and Teach Raithneach will participat­e.

SINCERE SYMPATHY

The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to Eileen Hogan, Rathmaiden, Slane and her extended Family on the passing of her Brother John, Galbally, Limerick recently. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you.

CHILDREN’S GARDEN

THE BRICKX CLUB .

An Easter Special Craft and Lego session where we get creative with Easter Projects . From 4–6 pm on Thursday 13th April. Creative Easter fun for boys and girls aged 4 and upwards. Contact Teresa 086 3212986 .

CRAFT CLUB

WALKING GROUP

ANTI-LITTER LEAGUE

Meath Co. Council’s Anti-litter League has well and truly started, with one Round of Judging already completed. Another Round of Judging takes place sometime in April.Thanks to everyone who is making an effort on the various roads entered, please keep up the good work! If you have not been participat­ing to date, but are in a position to do so, please do what you can to help retain the gold Medal again in 2017. Please do not leave it to the dedicated few! TUS/RSS SCHEME VACANCIES

A number of vacancies on the TUS Scheme with Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n are currently available. There may also be a place on the Rural Social Scheme (RSS). MEN’S SHED

The activities of the Men’s Shed continues every week. We recently held our annual dinner in Watters, Collon. Over 30 men attended, what was a most enjoyable event, with good food ,music and craic. This week we completed our Annual Competitio­ns which were keenly contested. winners in the Bowls were Des McKenna and Paddy Geraghty, and the runners up Martin Weldon and Ciaran Baxter. In the Pool competitio­n Declan Monaghan and Johnny Weldon triumphed. In the Workshop the men are making various woodcrafts and this week made two lovely Buddy Benches for Collon National School.

We are currently planning our programme for the next few months. It is hoped to organise some tours along with visiting other Men’s Sheds around the country. If you would like to and join us, please come along any Thursday morning between 10 am and 1 pm. You will be very welcome. Contact the Men’s Shed at 0872728229
