Writing Group–Every Thursday morning from 10 AM to 12 Noon. €5 Fee; includes tea, coffee, biscuits, and buns. This group is for the aspiring or published writer of both poetry and prose. Yoga–Block of (8) Classes– Every Friday morning, starts March 31st from 10 to 11.30 AM. Fee €80. Contact Slava on 087 295 9662 or come on the day.

The Chapel Street Band Concert–Friday night, April 7th, starts at 8.30 PM (Sharp) to 10.30 PM. €10 admission fee per person. This 17-piece band consists of an ensemble of fiddles, accordions, banjos, guitars, keyboards, harmonica, bodhrán, and drums. They will be playing a selection of reels, jigs, hornpipes, and marches with a good mixture of Irish songs. This is a concert not to be missed. All proceeds from this performanc­e are being kindly donated to the Drumshallo­n Forge for its continued restoratio­n of the Blacksmith’s forge and old cottage.

Felting Workshop–Tuesday, April 11th, 11.30–13.30. Fee €20. This is a two hour class on creating artistic pieces with wool using both wet and dry felting techniques. Suitable for both beginners, and experience­d people. Materials provided. Contact Teresa Dillon on 086 321 2986 to reserve your space.

Wire Animal Garden Sculptures– day course for creating decorative garden wire sculptures. We’ll be running two dates for this workshop. €20 Fee. Materials provided. Bring your own lunch, and a pair of gloves, pliers, and an image of what you’d like to make. Class size is limited to 10-people per class.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT NEWS

The Dunleer and District Active Retirement Group (encompassi­ng among others, Monasterbo­ice) will have, what sounds like, a fantastic Spring Break to Limerick City, from Monday, April 17th to Thursday 20th.
