An enjoyable Presentati­on night was held in Sherman’s Lounge, Main St., Dunleer on Saturday night, 25th March. Chairmen of both the adult and Juvenile clubs, Shay Torris and Patrick Callan were in attendance to present the medals and awards.

On display were the U-16 B Championsh­ip and Division 3 A League trophies. Winners medals were presented to U-16 and U18 players. Christophe­r Leonard received the U-16 Player of the Year award and Tunji Ifaturoti collected the award for U-18 Player of the Year. Andrew Dowd received the Junior 1 Player of the year award. Cathal Grimes received the Junior 2 Player of the Year award. Jason Torris received the award for the up and coming player.

A presentati­on of an engraved framed Lannleire jersey was made to Francis Neacy by Lannleire Chairman, Shay Torris. The jersey bears the name of the club’s new sponsors, Neacy Mechanical and Electrical. HISTORICAL SOCIETY

D&DHS met in Connors Meeting Lounge, Main st., Dunleer for their A.G.M. on Wednesday, 8th March. Jonathan Clinton presented the Secretary’s report and Luke Torris reported on Income and expenditur­e for the year. Chairman, Gerard Mathews reflected on a busy year for the Society with the successful staging of a number of events to commemorat­e the 1916 Rising.

The Dunleer Golf Society returned to the Corballis Golf Course, Donabate Co. Dublin on Saturday, April 1st after a long absence. The tricky course was in excellent condition and fully tested the twenty-eight members taking part in the event sponsored by Gary Reynolds.

Jim Sweeney won the overall prize with 40 points and his prize was presented by Gary in Shearman’s, Dunleer, that evening.
