Tournament a huge success
THE St Anne’s five-week Indoor Camogie tournament which concluded last Saturday week proved a huge success.
The tournament catered for players at U8, U11 and U15 and there was a great air of excitement at the Drogheda Leisure Park on Saturday evening as players, mentors, parents and supporters arrived in their numbers for the conclusion of the tournament.
Teams from Round Towers Lusk, Navan O’Mahonys, Mattock Rangers, Termonfeckin, St. Anne’s, St. Kevins, St. Brides and Castleblayney competed over the course of the five weeks with 20 teams and approximately 240 players taking part, providing spectators with some wonderful thrilling matches and special moments.
The tournament ran according to plan with numerous factors contributing to its success. Firstly to the organising committee who left no stone unturned in the planning. Secondly to our referees and match time-keeper who kept the games running to schedule and without delays, and thirdly to the teams who turned up each week and must be commended for their sportsmanship throughout the tournament . Finally to the parents and supporters for their support every Saturday evening.
