Nash aims to win back Dail seat

-

SENATOR Ged Nash has been selected unanimously by Louth & East Meath Labour Party members to recapture his Dail seat at the next general election.

Wednesday night’s selection convention was addressed by Labour Leader Brendan Howlin and the former Employment Minister was proposed by Louth County Council Chair, Paul Bell and seconded by Cllr. Pio Smith.

Senator Nash, who last year lost his Dail seat to Sinn Fein said, “I am delighted to have the support of my colleagues to win back a Dail seat at the earliest opportunity.

“It was fitting that we held our convention in The Mill Enterprise Centre, the second phase of which I helped to fund. My track record in Drogheda is there for all to see; new jobs, rapidly falling unemployment, tens of millions of euros spent on new schools developments, the new mental health hospital in Crosslanes, an extension to the Lourdes Hospital, the new Courthouse and countless other investments.

“All Sinn Fein can offer is cynicism, populism and protest. They have done and will do nothing for Drogheda and have been virtually anonymous. That message is coming back to me loud and clear on the doors.

“Their bogus brand of politics and mock outrage is empty and tiresome. It doesn’t put bread on the table or pay the bills for working people.

“Simply put, they just couldn’t care less about jobs and local development. All we have had since the people of Louth elected two Sinn Fein TDs in Louth is doubling of the rhetoric and the empty rhetoric in stereo.”
