A WHIRLWIND start for St Fehins left this game as good as over after nine minutes as the hosts continued their 100 per cent start to the season.

St Fechins scored 3-3 in that period while Oliver Plunketts responded with a only a single point, as two goals and three points from the unstoppable Ronan Holcroft were followed by a powerful Niall Devlin shot for his side’s third goal.

During the remainder of the first half the locals scored six more points with Holcroft and Bevan Duffy took two each with Devlin and Danny Burnell adding one apiece.

The Plunketts battled to get into the game and Emmet Kelleher , who looked most dangerous up front, kicked three first half points. Added to by individual scores from Conor Early, Niall Murtagh and Marty Walsh.

The second half was a much quieter affair. Niall Devlin started the half off with his second point, but then the Plunketts had a mini revival. They kicked four points in four minutes and forced Fechins keeper Paul King to make a number of good saves.

The home side rallied however and quelled the comeback with four points of their own. The match petered out towards the finish with St Fechins holding onto their 12-point lead and perfect start to the league.
