More joy for Cuchulainn Archers in New Zealand

-

a competition built up of points earned for shooting over a series of weekends in the summer.

Day 1 on Saturday was exhausting for everyone as the wind picked up. It’s normal to try not to release an arrow when a gust of wind pushes your arm sideways, but with the clock ticking it can leave you very tight time-wise and many archers ran out of time for their sixth arrow.

With points earned on Saturday the gang returned on Sunday, but after only 6 arrows shot each it was decided to close the competition for the day as it was just too dangerous. All archers sent home on Sunday will be awarded equal points, so nobody misses out.

Fiachra Judge also won gold at the recent Ballyvally Buttercup shoot, a field shoot in a woodland setting near Newry. •CúChulainn Archers, who will be back training indoors in Ardee Parish Centre next Saturday, would like to thank Michael McCreanor of Butterlys Bar, Ardee, for his continued support in allowing the club to train outdoors in his back garden.
