Intruder demanded keys to car

Gardai are investigat­ing an incident in which a woman was confronted in her home in the early hours of the morning by a man who demanded her car keys.

The incident happened in Prospect Avenue on Saturday, April 29th in the early hours of the morning.

The woman woke at around 6am by someone kicking her front door.

When she went downstairs she was confronted by a man who demanded the keys of her car.

The frightened woman handed over the keys and the man made off with the vehicle.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Drogheda are investigat­ing a number of burglaries at homes throughout the region.

On Thursday, April 27th a house at Moonan’s Cottage in Drogheda was broken into sometime between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

A rear window at the property was forced open but nothing appears to have been taken.

The following day, a house in Grangebell­ew was broken into at around 10pm when entry was gained through a rear kitchen window. An ipad was stolen from the property. A TV was stolen from a conference room in the d Hotel sometime during the day of Wednesday. April 26th.

A house in Bryanstown Village was broken into overnight on Friday, April 29th.

The front window of the propertyw as forced open and entry gained but nothing was taken.

Gardaí would like to hear from anyone in the local area with informatio­n in relation to these matters.
