CELTIC CHALLENGE
THE Louth U17 hurlers opened up their Celtic Challenge campaign with this emphatic victory over neighbours Monaghan in Cloghan last Wednesday night.
This was a good all round team performance from the Wee County boys with seven different players contributing scores, the pick of them being full forward Ultan McEneaney who finished with a personal tally of 2-7.
The visitors had effectively wrapped up the victory by half time at which stage they led by 4-11 to 1-2 with Padraic Fallon, Paul Tynan and Ciaran McGlynn also among the scorers.
The second half was more closely contested with Louth sealing their victory with a fifth goal. The team will take on Meath ‘Kings’ in round of two of the competition this Wednesday evening in Termonfeckin at 7.30pm.
