Unbeaten run continues for Syddan

2-13 0-10

-

SYDDAN recorded a third win on the spin to propel themselves into a mid-table position in the Division 2 FL at Meath Hill last Saturday evening.

The hosts started well with early points from Pierce McGrath and Ian Malone before Syddan gradually worked themselves into the game, and boosted by a goal from substitute Paddy Farrelly they led 1-9 to 0-7 at the break.

Meath Hill squandered too many chances to make a game of it in the second half. They were well out of contention by the time McGrath dragged a penalty wide of the target on 45 minutes.

Daire Rowe had Syddan’s opening two points of the second half and when he found the net following a fine run from Michael Fedigan it left the scoreboard reading 2-13 to 0-8.

A scrappy final quarter only produced two scores, both for the home side who finished with 14 following the dismissal of one of their subs shortly after coming on in the closing stages.
