Rampant Roche stay on top

ROCHE EMMETS 2-17 STABANNON PARNELLS 1-12

-

ROCHE Emmets remain joint top of the Division 3 league after recording an eight point victory over Stabannon Parnells at home in Roche on Saturday night.

Two first half goals from David O’Connell and a Barry O’Hare penalty helped the hosts take a decisive grip on the game in the early stage.

They went on to lead by 2-8 to 0-7 at the half-time interval as the game threatened to run away from Stabannon Parnells.

Colm Giggins, Martin King and Alan Lynch were the leading lights for Stabannon as they continued to battle gamely in the second half.

Aonghus Giggins and Daniel Bannon contributed seven points between them over the hour while sub Niall Fanning added a late goal.

But Roche were never seriously troubled as they ran out winners by eight points to keep their promotion bid firmly on track.
