ST BRIDES 1-18 DOWDALLSHILL 2-7

-

ST Brides spent 24 hours on top of Division 3 after they put Dowdallshill to the sword on Friday night at Pairc Naomh Brid.

The visitors dominated proceedings from start to finish but despite all their possession and chances, they found themselves trailing at half time 2-5 to 1-07.

The highlight of the half being exhibition scoring by both full forwards, with Cathal Mc Kenna for the Reds and Aidan McCabe for the hosts. McKenna scored 1-4 but McCabe went one better as he landed 2-4 for the Hill to give his side the edge at the break.

After the restart St Brides, not showing any sign of fatigue in their second outing in less than 24 hours, moved up a number of gears. They scored a further ten points without reply before McCabe got his side’s first score of the second half on 56 minutes. The same player slotted over a late free kick soon after before Ciaran Deane concluded the scoring on the stroke of full time to give his side a comprehensive victory.
