Super Saints seal points

ST BRIDES 1-13 GLEN EMMETS 0-9

-

ST Brides won this scrappy encounter on Thursday night in Pairc An Chuinnigh to remain just two points off the pace in Division 2.

The Knockbridge side took the lead from the first minute, through a Kevin Hearty point, and never went behind for the remainder of the match, as they went on to win by seven points.

Hearty also tagged a further point and a goal in addition to points from Mark Hoey, Ciaran Deane and Aaron Hoey (2) to give St Brides a half time score of 1-6 to Glen Emmets 0-3.

A pointed free kick after the restart from Ronan Grufferty appeared to give the Glens a much needed boost, however any sign of a comeback was thwarted as this score was cancelled out by three unanswered points from the Reds.

David Bracken and Keith Rooney added two more scores for their side but again these were quickly cancelled out by a Sean Marry brace.

The deficit was reduced to four points thanks to points from Andrew Mooney and Grufferty (2) entering the final two minutes.

However Emmet Kirk and Hearty gave their side some breathing space when they both slotted over.
