Blue angels enjoy their day
THE outstanding work of the nursing community in Our Lady of Lourdes and the Louth County Hospital was heralded in fitting style on International Nurses Day.
Approximately 800 nurses care for thousands of people daily in the county and they had their moment to shine on Friday as the public got the chance to see what they do - up close and personal.
A series of displays in Our Lady of Lourdes showed off the multi-national nature of the regional hospital and the lifesaving work they do on a consistent basis.
THE HEART and soul of any organisation, of any team, is its people. Those that go the extra mile, put others before themselves and reach a level of professionalism second to none.
Then, take a bow the nursing crew at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital!
Last Friday was International Nurses Day and a chance for the nearly 800 nurses in the hospital to accept a well deserved pat on the back.
Throughout the hospital., billboards celebrated the multi-cultural aspect of the team, coming from dozens upon dozens of different countries and making Drogheda and this area home.
There are a staggering 29 nursing departments in the Lourdes and 24 wards.
The day allowed people to come in and tell their stories of how the Lourdes staff had helped them, one family and a little boy telling how they came through a nightmare, thanks to the dedicated team. More than a tear or two were shed.
Adrian Cleary knows the team he has around him and appreciates the efforts - minute by minute - never mind daily.
It’s the type of game where every second can count and Drogheda has these game changers in its corner,
