€155K PONTOON IS NEARLY READY
WORK on the new pontoon near Scotch Hall will be completed in time for the Irish Maritime Festival and the council are considering proposals for a second mooring platform at Dominic’s Park it has been revealed.
The new pontoon is a 50/50 project between Louth County Council (LCC) and Drogheda Port Company and the total cost of the project is €155,000.
Councillor Kevin Callan commended the council on their works on the pontoon at the Marina and said it would be a fantastic asset for the town.
Councillor Paul Bell also welcomed the fact that the Marina is being developed along the river Boyne.
‘ The council has to be recognised for their contribution, which is very very significant, in making this a reality,’ he said. ‘Without their support it wouldn’t have happened.
Agreeing, Councillor Richie Culhane said it will be a great attraction for tourists.
