Apply for Indaver funding for much needed crossing at Meadowview
A COUPLE of years ago, a call was made for a pedestrian crossing in the vicinity of Meadowview and Rosevale on the Beamore Road, but nothing came of it.
That continues to be a shame and a real danger in this area.
I spent quite a while trying to exit Meadowview one day last week as cars hared down from the Beamore side and came racing up from under the Coolagh Street bridge. There is a disgusting Drogheda sign buried in some bushes blocking the view up the road and a good pruning would not be out of order.
But the big issue is actually crossing the road at a safe spot and there’s none. So a suggestion. The Meath border is right at the Meadowview turn so what are the chances of €5,000 or €10,000 being secured under the Indaver Community Fund to put up a pedestrian crossing on the Meath side of this road, closer to Ard Ri.
