Harry Allen and Woodington’s face off in the parish night series finals

TWO minstrel groups are fighting for first place in Drogheda’s big Parish Night variety series, which is reaching the final stages.

The groups—the Dixie Minstrels and the Black and whites, both from Drogheda; reached the semi-finals in a close finish. Their marks were Dixie’s (84). Black and Whites (83). In the finals of the National Ballad contest run by the Parish Night committee, three teams will compete for the prizes. Weaver Folk. Dublin, the Four Mary’s’ Drogheda and the Fighting Folk, Navan. Twenty factories competed in the top team variety contest in the same series. The Woodington and Harry Allen teams will meet in the final on May 19.
