Tolan elected Whip of FG

At the Fine Gael Group meeting in Navan last week, Laytown-Bettystown Councillor Sharon Tolan was elected as the new Whip. Following a contest between, Cllrs Maria Murphy (Ratoath MD), Alan Tobin (Ashbourne MD) and Noel French (Trim MD), Tolan was elected by the group.

Tolan now replaces Cllr Gerry O’Connor, who has held the position for the past 3 years, following the 2014 Local Election.

“I’m really delighted, and honoured to have been elected by my colleagues. It’s a challenging role, and I am certainly looking forward to working with everyone in my new position.” Tolan said.
