Rangers rout Dowdallshill

-

IT was a tale of the two full forwards as Glyde’s Brian Duffy scored an incredible 1-12 and Dowdallshill’s Aidan McCabe 0-8, as Rangers routed the Dundalk men.

McCabe opened the scoring for the Dundalk outfit after only 30 seconds but Glyde hit back immediately and never looked back.

Points from Alan Brennan, Dion Conlon, Conor Sheridan, Trevor O’Brien and both Gavin and Brian Duffy had built up a 0-12 to 0-2 lead just before half time Gavin Duffy scored the first goal of the game.

Glyde had built up a healthy 1-22 score by the 15th minute in the second half when Dowdallshill’s Gerry McShane finished to the net.

This seemed to stir the Glyde team and within 30 seconds Niall Sharkey scored Glyde’s second goal following some nice interplay with Gavin Duffy. Glyde now went for the jugular and Brian Duffy finally scored Glyde’s third after being set up by Conor Sheridan on 20 minutes.

Further points from Ciaran Sheridan and Dion Conlon kept the Tallanstown side’s score ticking over before Niall Sharkey and Dowdallshill’s Anthony Quinn were sent off.
