Devastating derby show from Clans

-

CLAN na Gael bounced back in style from their first defeat of the season when they scored a comprehensive victory over neighbours, Dundalk Gaels

The 17-point victory means that the Clans are just one point off the top of the table and level with St Marys and Dreadnots.

It was a disappointing outcome for the Gaels and the margin of defeat means that have slipped to second from bottom.

The Clans looked the more determined from the outset and with the help of points from Billy Smith and Ray McCabe they had established a well-deserved 0-10 to 0-4 lead at the break, with Sean McCann and Jason Clarke among the scorers for the visitors.

The game may not have been beyond the Gaels as they returned for the second half but it soon was as Clans put together a good move the ended with Micheal McDonald scoring the first goal of the game.

There was no way back for the visitors after that as the Clans continued to dominate and kicked some good points before JJ Quigley sealed a very satisfying victory with a second goal.
