St Patrick’s reeled in again

-

ST Patricks had to be content with a second draw on the bounce after once again allowing a healthy second half lead slip.

The visitors looked set for victory when a Paddy Keenan goal on 36 minutes had his team seven points to the good. However, the Marys hit back immediately with a goal from Kian Moran and the y slowly clawed back the lead before Alan Kirk secured a draw.

The sides were level at 0-6 apiece at the break but the Pats started the second period in determined mood and kicked four unanswered points before Keenan’s goal had them 1-10 to 0-6 in front.

However, St Marys were given a lifeline when Moran got through for a goal. Thomas McCann increased the gap to five points but the hosts slowly chipped away at the lead.

Keenan edged the Pats in front again but Kirk had the final say with what proved to be the equaliser despite late chances for both sides.
