Plunketts rescue a draw

-

HUNTERSTOWN Rovers slipped to second place in Division 2 when they were held to a draw by Oliver Plunketts at home on Friday night.

Rovers went into the game with a 100% record but their scoring threat was blunted through the unavailability of Ryan Burns. In his absence, Alan Landy led the first half scoring as he landed his three points.

Niall Carrie and Paul Carrie chipped in with points as did Ryan Ward another but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Plunketts from taking a 0-7 to 0-6 lead into the interval.

The second half proved equally tight with neither side able to take command on the scoreboard. Muiris O Suilleabhain and Brendan Lennon helped keep the scoreboard ticking over for Hunterstown but Alan Landy’s effort on 47 minutes proved to be their last of the game.

The Plunketts took advantage of this to ensure they went home with a share of the spoils.
