Three wins from three for Louth
LOUTH under-17 hurlers made it three wins from three in the Bank of Ireland Celtic Challenge in Mullagh last Wednesday night.
Having opened with a win over Monaghan, the young Reds then recorded an excellent win over Meath Kings in the second round, and they cemented their position as group F leaders with another fine victory over Cavan.
From the start Louth played some excellent hurling and moved the ball with pace.
Naomh Moninnes’ Ciaran McGlynn hit six points for the Louth boys in the opening half and a Paul McEvoy goal gave them an 11-point lead at the break.
McEvoy and Padraig Fallon were dominant in midfield and at centre back Danny Morgan was outstanding.
Louth’s Paul McEvoy and Cavan’s Jesse Holland picked up the Best and Fairest awards.
