Don Thornton to hit Scotch Hall

Two big events for the Drogheda branch of the Alzheimer Society take place in the coming days.

On Friday night (May 26) at 7pm, at the Highlanes Gallery, there will be a special screening of the Alzheimer-themed film, Just Alice.

Admission is free but those intending to be there are asked to book on Eventbrite or to ring the gallery at 041 9803311.

It will include a social evening with pizza and a glass of wine.

Meanwhile, the mercurial Don Thornton is in Scotch hall on Saturday next all day, running his daily 10k on a treadmill.

Many of his friends and supporters will be there to support him and help raise money so he can reach his target of € 15,000 for the Alzheimer day care centre in Drogheda.

Don has been doing his daily run for the cause close to his heart and is now within a month of completing his remarkable 365- day marathon effort.
