Drogheda slam Ormeau 5-1 in the league

Drogheda maintained their strong challenge for the title by slamming Ormeau 5-1 at Lourdes Stadium.

The first goal of game came when inside right John Leydon netted for Ormeau, but this was short-lived as Pat Cruise equalised two minutes later and Drogheda went ahead via outside left Eddie Barrett. Drogheda then took over and further goals from B Wynne (2) and another by Barrett put the issue beyond doubt.
