-

A new state of the art warehouse by Fast Terminals has just opened in Drogheda.

At over 5,500m2 the new warehouse is largest investment in onsite port warehousing in the North East in recent times as well as being the single biggest development within the port estate since the construction of Tom Roes Point itself in 2000.

Declaring the warehouse open for business Mayor of Drogheda, Oliver Tully congratulated the Fast Group and Drogheda Port Company on their investment in Drogheda. He said: It is a clear vote of confidence in Drogheda that this investment is being made here. The port remains the oldest indigenous employer in the town and the continued growth of our port is essential to the economic wellbeing of the area.’ The warehouse will cater for existing and new bulk cargoes and will assist the port to grow its trade volumes. The port in recent times has developed a niche in agri-trade products serving the entire north east region.

Simon Mulvany of Fast Terminals added: ‘ The development of this warehouse and the opportunities it brings is a sign of things to come as Fast Terminals and Drogheda Port continue to invest and grow.’ The Fast Group in conjunction with Drogheda Port will ensure that Drogheda’s long and proud maritime tradition continues.
