Fans are getting ready to rock as the countdown begins to Guns N’ Roses sold out gig at Slane this weekend. Some 80,000 people are expected to pack the grounds surrounding the historic venue for the ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour and fans are being encouraged to arrive early and use public transport where possible to avoid long delays at the end of the night. The full line up for the event has been revealed and support acts include Mark Lanegan, Royal Blood and local band Otherkin. The band are expected to take to the stage as early as 7pm and will play a full set of over 20 songs so those in attendance are asked to arrive before 5pm to make the most of the show. This will be the first time the iconic band have taken to the stage at Slane in 25 years, following their debut in County Meath back in May 1992. If people are driving to Slane, car parks are colour-coded and signposted from the main routes.

No alcohol or food is permitted inside the venue and ID is needed for the purchase of alcohol.

In recent weeks MCD revealed the extensive list of items which were band from the site and included everything from large unbrellas to nitrious oxide, megaphones and garden furniture. Full details can be found at mcd.ie and a free app with frequently asked questions and information can be downloaded from www.evntzapp.ie. Lord Henry Mountcharles said: ‘I am delighted with this line up. Royal Blood is a really exciting act and I am thrilled they are on the bill. The local connection with Otherkin is special.

The gates at Slane Castle will be open to ticketholders at 2pm and the show will start at 3pm with Otherkin taking to the stage at 3.30pm. After becoming the biggest breaking British rock band with their self-titled 2014 debut album, Royal Blood’s eagerly anticipated second album ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ will be released on June 16th. The album’s lead single ‘Lights Out’ is now available after being premiered on Radio 1 as MistaJam’s Hottest Record. American grunge star Mark Lanegan’s new album Gargoyle, out now, has been garnering stellar reviews. Otherkin are a grunge-pop band from Dublin, fronted by Slane local Luke Reilly. Their debut album is due out later this year. Guns N’ Roses’ sold all 80,000 general admission tickets when they went on sale last December.
