Gate closure is welcomed

South Louth / East Meath FF PRO Anthony Moore (right) has passed on his congratulations to all who were involved in the Close the Gate campaign which has at last brought about the gate’s closure.

“The Close the Gate campaign was on the right side of history and as a result of its efforts the great monuments of Drogheda’s past can be preserved for the future,’ he stated.

‘All involved in it and all those who supported it deserve the highest praise. At last we are on the right track in terms of preserving our town’s rich cultural heritage.

‘People power has won the day.”
