ARDCATH AND CURRAGHA BATTLE IT OUT TO BE THE FITTEST SCHOOL

-

IT promises to be quite a day at Cushinstown AC on Sunday May 28th as two local schools face each other in a bid to find who is the fittest - and that includes the parents!

The unique challenge sees St Patricks NS in Ardcath take on St Andrews NS Curragha and the proceeds go to both schools.

It runs from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and the whole idea is that two boxes are filled with tokens, won by people from both schools.

Whichever school gets the most, wins a trophy.

The box with the least number of tokens sees the principal of that school - dunked! So, Killian O’Mahony (Ardcath) and JJ Brennan (Curragha) will be keeping a close eye on that box!

Entry fee is €10 per car and there’s a tuck shop.

There are numerous races on for the pupils, plus a teacher and parent tug o war, parents relay race, plus horse shoe throwing, soccer shots, ring boards and lots more.

The organisers thank all those who have helped with sponsorship, including Hugh Maguire Butchers in Ashbourne, Irish Cement in Platin, Spire Restaurant in Duleek, Tayto Park, Largo Foods and Swans of Curragh.

?? ?? The finishing touches are taking place to the porch area as the superb refurbishment of the front of Laytown church comes to a conclusion.
