Colaiste na hInse open to looking at council using car park for summer visitors

-

MEATH County Council are to look at the possibility of using the Colaiste na hInse school car park as a facility for visitors this summer.

Council officials confirmed at last week’s area meeting in Duleek that the school has no objection to the authority looking into the matter.

Areas such as insurance and managing it would have to be considered.

It is felt the car park would assist with the huge numbers that flock to the popular resort during peak season.

The debate arose as part of the beach management discussion, but Cllr Paddy Meade said that while Laytown and Bettystown were important, Mornington should not be left out.

He also raised the issue of Gormanston and how come it wasn’t part of an overall plan, although he accepted it was in a different district.

Cllr Tom Kelly said the Nanny to the Boyne was the initial objective of the plan
