Northlands defence walls are too high

-

A CALL has been made for the height of the walls being built as part of the Northlands flood defences to be lowered as they are blocking the view of drivers.

Cllr Sharon Tolan raised the point last week, telling council officials that she has had complaints.

‘ There is no visibility for people driving around the bends,’ she stated. ‘ The residents are concerned.’

She did add that the works were ‘fantastic’ and welcomed but perhaps someone should call out to meet the residents who had expressed views on the walls.

Engineer Christy Clarke said that in one location the wall had been moved back.

It was something the council were looking at.
