KNOCKBRIDGE

-

U.6 to U.12 training continues this Friday at 5.30 p.m. in the Brides field. New members are very welcome to come along on the evening.

Last Thursday we hosted a three team U.10 blitz with Blackrock and Pearse Og making the short trip out to play us. After an enjoyable hours hurling the results were Knockbridge 5-6 Blackrock 1-1, Pearse Og 2-1 Blackrock 1-0 and Knockbridge 7-4 Pearse Og 0-3. On the same evening our U.14’s played St. Fechins in the league. After an entertaining encounter we lost out on a scoreline of 5-2 to 3-2. Also we are hosting a Marathon Relay Run to fund raise for our upcoming Feile trip to Kilkenny. The boys appreciate all who can sponsor a line.

Saturday saw our Junior hurlers lock horns with St.Fechins in the league final. After a huge battle, even extra time failed to separate these sides as it ended level on a scoreline of Knockbridge 3-16 St.Fechins 4-13

In the Louth county hurling skills competition Kevin Plunkett won the U.10 event while Jake McNamara finished a very creditable 3rd in the U.14 section. Other players to do well included Aidan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Donnelly.

This Tuesday our U.12’s travel to Collon to take on the Kevins/ Mattock/Glen Emmets combination while Thursday sees our U.8’s travel to the DKIT to play in a blitz.
