Tullyallen tractor run is huge fundraiser
Dear Sir,
Organised by a group of tractor enthusiasts from Tullyallen the annual tractor run the day after St Stephens Day is one of the biggest of its kind in the Northeast if not the country.
With vehicles from trucks, cars, tractors and jeeps coming to assemble at the parochial hall, participants catch up and chat before taking to the roads for the enjoyable countryside run.
Many spectators from Tullyallen and surrounding areas come to view the spectacle often with young children delighted to witness the incredible machines many of them decorated for the Christmas festivities. The day is all finished off with refreshments and entertainment in Dolly Mitchells Slane.
NECRET who support cutting edge cancer and treatment in the Oncology and Haematology Unit, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital were deeply appreciative when some of the organizers recently visited the Unit and presented a cheque for a massive €15,171.
Speaking on behalf of NECRET Professor Hennessy extended a massive congratulations and thanks to everybody involved with a special mention to Gerard Healy, Pat Barron, Derek Russell and their families for their sterling effort and major contribution towards ensuring people with cancer receive the very best, most up to date treatment and care.
