Driving ban for no insurance conviction

Christophe­r McGrath, Redshank Court, Aston Village was disqualifi­ed for driving for ten years at Drogheda District Court after he was convicted of having no insurance.

Garda Declan Brady said McGrath was stopped at a checkpoint at Smithstown, Julianston­w on November 16th, 2015 when it was discovered he had no tax or insurance. The court heard he also had no driving licence or NCT. Garda Brady said the car was detained. After hearing that the defendant had 20 previous conviction­s, including four for no insurance, Judge John Coughlan disqualifi­ed him from driving for ten years and inposed a €200 fine.
