Drogheda Brass Band win first All-Ireland

The Drogheda Brass Band are Intermediate Brass Band champions, their first national title, having won the title in Dun Laoighre at the weekend.

The Drogheda band’s feat is a great achievement, as the average age of the 22 members of tne combination is only about 20, and they have obviously got a very bright future if their progress is maintained at its present rate.

The next few years of the band seem to be well provided for as there are about 15 youngsters at present under the care of Christy Smith andTony Lawless.
